Ring 5: shapes

Problem:      Robot Pathing: Program a LEGO robot from Point A to Point B, avoiding a round Lava Pit (Obstacle C). Find the absolute shortest path.

Numerical Proof:      Concept: Uses Geometry and tangent lines. The shortest path must follow the tangent arc of the circular obstacle.

The Discovery:      You discover that geometry is the key language for spatial control and is used to program all automated movement (robots, self-driving cars).

Certification Problems

  • Visual Theme: Programming a robot to navigate around an obstacle.

  • Action: Two students work over a screen displaying a 2D grid map with clear Point A and Point B.

  • The Scene: A large, central red circle is labeled "Lava Pit / No-Go Zone".

  • Key Highlights: A bold green line shows the shortest path: a straight line that touches the tangent of the red circle and proceeds to Point B.

  • Symbols: Small (x, y) coordinates and a small robot icon following the path.

  • Final Prompt: "Concept Illustration, Educational Cartoon, Clean Vector Style, Landscape Aspect Ratio. Two students over a screen displaying a 2D grid map. Red circle labeled 'Lava Pit' is central. A bold green line shows the shortest path: a straight line touching the tangent arc of the circle and continuing to Point B. Include (x, y) coordinates and a small robot icon following the path. Bright, clear colors."
